Shout Out to Lindsay
My girlfriend Lindsay was supposed to go shopping with me on Black Friday, but at the last minute she had to cancel. She has bronchitis really bad and the doctor has her on antibiotics and told her to keep her butt in bed this weekend. She even had to miss the Thanksgiving dinner at her mom’s house.
Lindsay – sorry you are under the weather g/f. I hope you feel better real soon and we can go shopping together to finish up the Christmas list instead of starting in on it.
Giving Thanks
Today was a nice day for the whole family and at the end of the day we were all truly thankful for our blessing.
My brother invited everyone over to his house for dinner. We got there early to watch the football game at noon and then help in the kitchen. We had a lot of helping hands and a lot of delicious food. The only problem I had was choosing between pumpkin pie and the pecan pie. I was so totally full of turkey that I hardly had room for dessert, but who can turn down a slice of pie on Thanksgiving?
Gas at half price
Nobody is making a big deal about the cost of gas dropping in news stories, but I am ecstatic. I know that last year at this time gas was about $3.35 a gallon. I still have the receipts for my taxes of what I paid each week. So now that gas is $1.51 a gallon, it is half the price of what it cost last year. Yehaw!
Football and Wings
We decided to go watch the football game at a sports bar and then we couldn’t decide which one to go to. I finally said that Hooter’s at least has great chicken wings. If the guys are really there to watch the game, I don’t care if the girls are strutting around in shorts with their butt cheeks hanging out. The chicken wings at Hooters are huge and really greasy and they taste GREAT. I think the only place that has better wings is maybe Logans. Their hot wings are more like a fried chicken wing with hot sauce put on after they are are cooked. Love them both ways for different reasons.
Anyways, we are heading out in a few. Catch you later!
Wet Week
It’s bad enough that Daylight Savings has ended and it gets dark before I leave work at 5:00. Now the weather forecast is for rain every day this week. What a depressing way to go through the day – getting wet in the dark on the way in to work, and getting wet in the dark on the way home from work. Plus, these idiots around here can’t drive under optimal circumstances. When you add wet roads to the rush hour – you are guaranteed a mess of accidents and you’ll need to tack an extra half hour to an hour onto your commute time.
Life sucks sometimes.
